Experience a unique screening of Christy, starring Sydney Sweeney. The film tells the remarkable story of professional boxer Christy Martin, one of the first women to gain recognition in the male-dominated world of boxing, and the personal obstacles she overcame along the way. This screening is part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, with all proceeds supporting Haldimand & Norfolk Women’s Services, including G.I.R.L.S Power Camp, which helps local grade 8 girls build confidence, leadership, and resilience.

The backing band members are all professional seasoned musicians from the Greater Toronto area and have played literally 1000's of shows at various festivals, theatres and night clubs.

Kick off the holidays with Port Dover students' annual Santa Sale! 
This holiday craft sale has been a local tradition since the 1940s and we are delighted to keep the annual joy returning.

 Student Craft Sales
Each elementary school class is deciding on a different craft for their students to make and sell at the Santa Sale. Support both the students and their school by buying their handmade crafts and decorations! These gems are the highlight of the event.

 Penny Table & Lucky Draw
Grab your tickets, scope out the prizes, and get ready! At regular intervals throughout the day, another table full of raffles will be drawn! The Penny Table keeps the festivities going as excited ticket-holders decide which prizes to go for and return after each draw to see if their numbers are among the lucky winners. Be sure to claim all your winning Penny Table prizes by the end of the event! And then to cap it off, at the end of the day we'll draw the table of Lucky Draw prizes and contact those winners directly.

Last but certainly not least, these local vendors put the SALE in Santa Sale! Get some Christmas shopping done, decorate your home for the holidays, or treat yourself to a gift. You've earned it.

Fun fact, the very first of these events hosted by the Port Dover Public School "Home and School" association were also at the end of November! They soon became an annual event, sometimes in December and sometimes earlier in the fall, with different features added for a year here and there or sticking around for decades. This tradition moved from Port Dover Public School to Doverwood to Lakewood as the schools changed, but what hasn't changed is the heart and joy at the centre of it!We're glad we get to keep it going. Join Esther as she teaches how to make your own non-toxic cleaning products at home. You’ll also learn how easy and cost effective it is to make your cleaning products.

Esther will demonstrate how to make powdered laundry detergent and dishwasher tabs and you will go home with some samples to try.  Also learn how to make hand soap, dish soap, all purpose cleaner, and more.

The class fee is $30.00+tax per person ($33.90). Kindly ensure the full payment is made within 24 hours to help streamline the process on our end. When submitting your payment, please include your name and the class you're paying for in the comments section.

Join us in your Halloween costumes for an evening of dancing and fun in the gym! 

The dance is starting earlier this year. Doors open at 5:00pm!

 Admission:
$5 for a single student and their family or 
$10 for families with two or more students

There will be food and drink tickets for sale, and donations going to soundproof the gym.

 Act as "security" to keep food from entering the gym with its beautiful new floor

All volunteer positions are split up into first-half/second-half shifts or are before or after the event, so volunteers have the option to only sign up for half the event or both halves depending on their preferences and families' needs.
