This month marks our first ever edition of our monthly “how you doin’?” to our real estate friends and clients. If you’re finding it in your inbox it’s because at some point you’ve trusted us with your email address. It may have been a while since we’ve seen each other so let’s catch up! Our family is definitely one on the go a lot (in regular times) with four active girls who love so many different things. Grace is in grade 10, Sophie in grade 9, Maddie in grade 7 and the “baby” Audrey is in grade 3. We can normally be found taxiing them to voice lessons, personal training sessions, theatre, softball and this season I think we might be adding soccer. Zoom has been a huge help for tutoring and we’ve been on the road a lot less this year so as we move toward (hopefully!) more activities I think it’s going to come as a bit of a shock.

Keith and I have been enjoying his move to the Brokerage full-time though I'm sure some days it’s a little too much “Mummery-ing” for Abby ;) We’ve been working hard for our clients but we always make time to love on our community and it’s businesses. We are especially thankful that so many of our restaurants and shops have been able to adapt for takeout and curbside pick up options, we love supporting local!

One of the positives to come out of this challenging year is our renewed gratitude for where we get to call home. Through our “Follow Friday’s” and giveaways on social media we hope you’ve been able to get to know Norfolk just a little bit better.

• It’s no secret that there’s a shortage of inventory for Buyers everywhere and Norfolk County is no different. Since July of 2020 the “months of inventory” number has floated between 1 and 2 months of supply. Which means that if we were to sell all of the residential listings offered in Norfolk County as of February 28th without adding any, we would run out of places within that time period. How crazy is that?!

• We write a weekly blog (most Mondays!) about the Market in one way or another. It may be helpful tips, suggestions or experiences we’ve had as well as cold, hard numbers (stats). The one thing we promise is that you’ll at least pick up one thing you didn’t know before reading it. First up, a look back at Prepping your House for Sale in any season. This one is timely as we hope to see warmer weather and less cold, white stuff - unless that’s your thing and in that case we’re sorry!

• One of the award-winning shows I always meant to binge watch is Schitt’s Creek. Have you seen it? Looks hilarious from the clips and continues to receive accolades around the world - yay for Canada ;) Super cool fact: their mansion from the show is in Toronto and was recently For Sale in real life! If one of you bought it, no hard feelings - just invite us over for Christmas ;)

Here is where you will find our gold star list for the month. People and pets we love; books and quotes that touch and inspire us; television shows and movies we can’t stop watching; songs we won’t stop humming; clothing and accessories we own and covet; and all the other stuff we love and think maybe you just might love too. 

I don’t think that anyone loved the ability to binge watch on Netflix while we had to stay close to home as much as Audrey. Her favourite? Brooklyn Nine-Nine. She’s 8 so luckily she doesn’t get all the jokes ;)

One thing that 2020 taught us is to be kind. And to wear comfy clothes. This Little Light helps with both and is frequently my office go-to!

My Nan always gave me Readers Digest subscriptions for Christmas gifts, I sure miss that… They have THE best stories like how dogs really are their person’s best friend. Especially when they’re saving lives.

Is there anything better than a clean house? Admittedly, it is hard to accomplish and even harder to maintain but I love @gocleanco Instagram account for inspiration and motivation. Watch their stories ~ so satisfying!

If you liked the song “Lost Boys” by Ruth B, you will love her new song, “If I Have a Son”. Not only does it have a beautiful melody, the lyrics are relevant to struggles surrounding the issue of racism in today’s society.

We stumbled across this awesome article on the Canada Post website: To help Canadians stay in touch, when it matters so much, Canada Post will deliver approximately 13.5 million postcards, one to every residential address in the country. The postcards are part of the “Write Here Write Now” program, to encourage Canadians to use letter writing to connect in a heartfelt way”.

We hope everyone is surviving the time change from the weekend. Don't fret, the mind fog and lagging won’t last and it will be oh so worth it when the light stays with us long into the evening hours for those beautiful after dinner walks.

We recognize there are not a lot of events for us to safely enjoy happening right now.
