Have you noticed that with the cooler weather all you want to do is eat chilli and nap? No? Just me then ;)

November is always a big month for us with two birthdays (3 if you count Abby!) and the countdown to Christmas that starts the second Halloween is over. For us the best part of the holiday traditions is the baking. We have my mom’s recipe book and there are some of our favourites that we wish we had available all year, but we keep them for Christmas to make them special. Peanut butter balls, macaroons (or no bake cookies, haystacks for some), lemon cookies, shortbread (which I can NEVER get to turn out) and decorated sugar cookies designed with the cutters my mom and dad received as wedding gifts <3

Before we get there we have a long weekend planned in Myrtle Beach with Grace to attend the Winter World Series with her softball team. We even get to tour the local Coastal Carolina University and they will practice on the field - so exciting!! Maddie just shared her art with us at an Open House at Wildwood Studios and Audrey and Sophie both are hoping for showcases with theatre and band (fingers crossed). The start of a fun and busy season.

• Just for fun (and because who doesn’t like to dream?) we looked up oceanfront property in Myrtle Beach, you know just in case… and came up with one that would be a perfect “home away from home”. Anyone have $2.1 million US they don’t know what to do with? We have a suggestion here on how to spend it.

• We have a lovely like “new” bungalow that is now available for showings on MacNeil Court in Hagersville. This 2 bed, 2 bath home is a sparkly little gem with a backyard oasis! Check it out here on our properties page.

• The ultimate goal…pay off your mortgage and own it free and clear. Did you know that housewarming is a tradition that comes from burning your mortgage paperwork to mark this momentous occasion. Would you celebrate by throwing a big party and burning your mortgage documents?

Here is where you will find our gold star list for the month. All the girls around this place are big fans of Taylor Swift and her re-released version of Red has been playing on repeat. We didn’t think we could love Taylor Swift more than we already do…but here we are belting out her tunes and celebrating an amazing woman who is taking back her art with a force!

If you’re looking to get started on your holiday shopping and have a little one on your gift list like I do, plan to pick up a Plasma Car from Indigo. My kids had one when they were little and it got so much use for many years. I just purchased this classic toy for my 18 month old niece and I can’t wait to give it to her.

We recently had some clients relocate to the Burlington area and when we were looking for a housewarming/thank you gift for them, we discovered that The Royal Botanical Gardens was nearby. They offer yearly memberships and right now have Winter Wonders going on. A unique outdoor experience guides visitors along Hendrie Park’s picturesque pathways adorned with charming festive lights, including 7 magical displays that tell the stories of unique winter wonders.

I am only 50 pages into Braiding Sweetgrass and I can already tell that this beautifully written and important book is going to win a space on my permanent shelf. It is series of stories about Indigenous plants, life and culture and the beauty of diversity that reads like a song straight to my heart.

Port Dover Christmasfest is this weekend!!! And although it isn’t going to be all the festivities that we are used to, it is still so great to have some of the cheer that we have been used to in the past. You can check out the flyer for the days events here.

Chocolate Lovers rejoice! Have y’all tried My Sweet Sweet World small batch, hand crafted quality chocolate??? This delectable chocolate shop is located on Main St. in Hagersville and you can also purchase online.
