Can you believe that Christmas is almost here and we are approaching the end of 2021?! Yay for Christmas and as for 2021, well… let’s hope for a brighter 2022 <3

Sophie had her first Concert Band performance at her high school, SCS, and we really enjoyed it, even on a smaller scale. We’re all relieved that the 7:15 am practices are over for a bit (we are NOT morning people). Audrey has had the opportunity to spread some Christmas cheer with her theatre group by carolling at the Panorama, recording a concert for seniors, and this Saturday she is marching in the Waterford Santa Claus parade! Maddie is on a break from her art classes and enjoying some downtime, while Grace is almost wrapped up with her softball workouts until the new year… but playing on the SCS Senior volleyball team twice a week. We are so thankful to have these opportunities that we will never take for granted again.

The kids are officially done school on Friday for two weeks and we are looking forward to some quiet time as a family. It’s been a busy work year and we are especially grateful this year for your friendship, support, referrals and your continued business.

As things continue to change and events start popping up in real life, we’ll share them with you on our website in our event calendar. If you have something you want us to add, reach out anytime.

• We all want to enjoy the holidays but it is important to remember safety first. We found this article about Holiday Home Safety Tips and think everyone could use a refresher…just to be safe ;)

• Although this article is five years old, it still rings true. In fact, it is truer than true. Our very own Port Dover “Grislong Family” (as they are referred to by friends and family) are still at it. I’m fairly certain they would win best decorated house in our little town, maybe even all of Norfolk County. Take a drive by 2 Galinee Trail in Port Dover and see the twinkly magic for yourself.

Here is where you will find our gold star list for the month. The holiday break is almost here, and good golly, are we ever ready to celebrate! One of Melissa’s faves is PJ’s Cream Liquor. We love that it is from a family owned dairy farm in Belleville, Ontario.

Are you ready to hunker down and feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Here is a list of the seven best movies for your greatest Disney Christmas movie marathon ever.

Christmas morning at the Mummery house added a new tradition a few years ago with the inclusion of a yummy cinnamon bun breakfast casserole, yum! What we do is make the first coffee, sit with the girls while they look through stockings and open Santa’s gifts. Then, a break for all to grab a drink, I whip up the casserole quick while they snack on goodies and get it in the oven while we open gifts. Timer goes off and it sits while we finish then an easy, warm start to the day! You could make it the night before though ;)

If you are looking for a last minute (and of course, local!) Christmas gift, pick up one of these sweet Norfolk County ABC books by Janine Nunn. Ahhhhh, books and local, two of my favourite things!!!

One of the items on Melissa’s list this year was Make Something Good by Ben and Erin Napier as she is a big fan of their popular home renovation TV show. I think she’s been good enough that it will be under the tree this year…my only wish for my busy friend is that she has a moment to sit and enjoy it!

The Waterford Lions are excited to bring their first night time Christmas Parade this weekend. Bundle up, grab a hot chocolate and come out to Waterford to catch a glimpse of the Big Guy himself!

What better way to get into the holiday spirit than to wander through Simcoe Panorama. You can stroll through this twinkly display now until January 2, 2022 from 6pm-10pm.
