Hello everyone and happy March Break! When this email comes to you we will be in sunny (but also a little rainy) Florida :) Grace and her D1 softball teammates are training this week at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach and have their first game under the lights Tuesday the 15th. They have a full schedule with practices, games and visits to some local Universities to watch College softball - soooo exciting!!

The rest of us are taking it easy outside of game time and just today took a drive on A1 Avenue - for any of you Vanilla Ice fans, it was slightly epic lol. We found a cute little beach and ran in the waves, tomorrow we may get brave with a swimsuit (maybe) and we want to go back to Turkey Creek, a little nature conservatory we walked through yesterday. The first time there we saw lots of little geckos and a large tortoise but it was so pretty we want to go again.We’re also near a place called Cocoa Village with a historic district and in the opposite direction a Treasure Museum… so many things and so little time!

We hope you have a great week and we’ll see you when we get home, ready to jump with both feet into the Spring Market ;)

And if you can picture yourself living like a king or queen we are more than happy to take you on a showing…we have our bags packed and our passports ready ;)

• Or if you prefer to just visit rather than commit to full time living abroad, this 13th century lakeside castle in Ireland is located in Galway, Ireland and is surrounded by seven acres of wooded parkland. It sleeps 12, comes with access to the lake by boat, and it's decorated with tapestries of ancient kings and knights. 

• Every town seems to have a least one street with an Irish-inspired name: Port Dover has St. Patrick St., Waterford has Green St., Simcoe has MacKay Ave., St. Michael’s St. in Delhi. Whatever the street you’re looking for, it won’t take the luck of the Irish to get you moving…but we can help with that ;)

Here is where you will find our gold star list for the month. People and pets we love; books and quotes that touch and inspire us; television shows and movies we can’t stop watching; songs we won’t stop humming; clothing and accessories we own and covet; and all the other stuff we love and think maybe you just might love too. 

Our handy little shopping cart coins were a big hit last month. If you still don’t have one no need to fret - we have lots more! We decided to put a community helper spin on them and collected donations for our local food bank in return for one of these little gems and we plan to match all monetary donations. At the end of March we will be dropping off a box of dry goods and a cheque for $*** to Port Dover and Area Lifeline Foodbank. There is still time if you want to be a part of it!

With St. Patrick’s Day this week, this Irish Soda Bread recipe is quick and easy. It goes perfectly with a bowl of Potato Broccoli Soup…and perhaps a pint of Guinness?!

I love books and I love lists so it should come as no surprise that I’m a sucker for a stellar recommended reading list. This list of 25 Best Books by Irish Authors is one I will be bookmarking! How many have you read?

If you’re not feeling like cooking dinner tonight and looking to try a new restaurant Icy Spicy Fine Indian Cuisine has opened in the Whitehorse Plaza in Simcoe. We recommended the butter chicken…it’s some of the best we’ve ever had!

Downtown Port Dover feels alive once again! The windows of The Norfolk Tavern are aglow with dancing, singing and merriment! The Gator At The Norfolk has opened the doors and you can help them celebrate their grand opening March 19th with live music at the Brig. Follow them on Facebook as they release more details!

It is so great to see so many events being able to take place…finally!!! Port Dover Skating Club is planning their 2022 Skating Showcase. It will be held at the Port Dover Arena and admission is by donation.
